A place as vibrant as the Seattle Waterfront hosts a number of annual events. Here are a handful to watch out for (on the cam!) and perhaps even attend in person.
April: Opening of the Cruise Season
May 22: National Maritime Day
June-August: Downtown Sailing Series Thursday Nights
July and August: Seafair Summer Festival
This lively summer festival (which celebrates 69 years in 2018) begins in early July with the landing of the Seafair Pirates in West Seattle at Alki Beach Park.
The Milk Carton Derby takes place in July at Green Lake Park.
The annual Torchlight Parade and Run is held in July in downtown Seattle.
Seafair Weekend Festival takes place in August. Lake Washington’s Genesee Park hosts the Boeing Maritime Celebration, with hydroplane races, performances by the Blue Angels, and family entertainment. Navy ships sailing into Elliott Bay from all over the globe are the big draw during Seattle Fleet Week.
